Aim:

To learn about the different flavours of alginate preferred by dentists.

Introduction:

Alginate is an elastic, irreversible hydrocolloid impression material. Irreversible hydrocolloid impressions form an inseparable part of impression material. Alginate is one among the foremost used dental materials and it is a simple, cost-effective, and indispensable part of dental practice.

Materials and methods:

A questionnaire was prepared. The survey was conducted among the dentists of Saveetha Dental College, Chennai, India, and the data was collected and analyzed.

Results:

According to the survey 65% of the dentists would prefer flavored alginate over flavourless alginates and would choose flavors according to the gender of the child.
